Akron Memory - WM 3799
Author: refarkas

Some images bring back good memories. When Chessie System was formed, the WM, B&O, and C&O merged their motive power fleets. For many Akron railfans, the best lashups were headed by a Western Maryland locomotive. While the WM F's were somewhat uncommon, WM Geeps could be seen more often. Here WM 3799 heads a westbound freight through Akron, Ohio on June 22, 1980. The tracks closest to the camera are EL tracks that have now been removed.

I'll second that. I think their red/white is one of the best variations of those colors together on a locomotive. I know it's refered to as the "circus" scheme but I don't think there is anything circus about it.
