Also note: through sleeper Boston to Los Angeles, and you could occupy the sleeper overnight in New Orleans! The Scheduled time for #5 to stop at Alexandria was 10:10AM; this time had not changed. This location at Alexandria was north of Potomac Yard where the train would pick up piggyback cars if it was to handle any.
Coincidentally, on the next day, Sunday, 7/8/1973, I made photos of #6 at Greensboro NC. It was not handling any piggyback cars on that run.
