Nostalgia & History > Roaring Fork cars at Houston -- Oct 87Date: 09/23/16 14:44 Roaring Fork cars at Houston -- Oct 87 Author: gcm These cars are on the Sunset Limited at Houston.
They were in town for the American Society of Travel Agents World Convention. Silver Queen was a 1948 Budd built car (coach) for the M&StL. It was sold to the Rock Island (#363 Herington). It was used on the RI Peoria and Quad City Rockets in the 70's. Silver Colt was built by Budd in 1948 for the California Zephyr. It was used by the D&RG on the Rio Grande Zephyr. I believe both cars were used on the Houston-Galveston Texas Limited in the early 90's.
