It was a road engine, in essence, Bill - but - the "T" stood for "Transfer", so, fully, "(D) Diesel (T) Transfer - (6) Axles - (6) Traction Motors - (2000) Horsepower." The EJ&E Railway purchased 27 of the 46 total produced. Between 1956 and 1962, all but two of these locomotives (#100 and #118) underwent a significant rebuilding program. Here is a link to an original Baldwin advertisement for the locomotive: http://yardlimit.railfan.net/baldwin/dt66-2000/workhorse.jpg And, a Builders Photo of EJ&E 104 at Eddystone, ready for delivery: http://www.northeast.railfan.net/images/eje104.jpg Bob ATSF100WEST......Out Date: 09/24/16 09:11 Re: Rare bird at rest - EJ&E DT-6-6-2000 in Industrial Repose....
