Filming Locations for 1939 Movie "Union Pacific"
Author: lynnpowell

Curiosity made me look up the filming locations for the 1939 movie, "Union Pacific".  A real surprise to me was that three of the filming locations listed were Jamestown, CA, Sonora, CA, and Stockton, CA.  Does anybody know what scenes were filmed that these three locations?
An even bigger surprise to me was that no filming locations were listed in Nevada, as Virginia & Truckee locomotives and rolling stock were used prominently in the movie.

I'd thought a significant portion was filmed on the Cedar City Branch in Southern Utah.
Unfortunately, imdb.com doesn't give specifics on how much of each movie segment was filmed at each location.
