Nostalgia & History > Need help with a date and train in Topeka, KS..Date: 09/24/16 21:41 Need help with a date and train in Topeka, KS.. Author: lilwes While scanning some old slides I have I came across this one of ATSF 43C. All that is on the slide a date stamp of "64". As you can see in the back ground is an old wooden coach and another car with a banner of some kind on it. The picture looks to have been taken in Topeka, KS. Any help as to when and what train would be most helpful. Thanks in advance.

display train that is now in the Kansas Historical Museum there in Topeka. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/25/16 09:41 by The_Chief_Way. Date: 09/25/16 23:11 Re: Need help with a date and train in Topeka, KS.. Author: mp51w Very cool photo Wes! The Chicagoan with a mid morning departure.
The low angle picture was taken right at 4th St., and of course 14 track has been gone for a while. It must have been before the locomotive simulater car was semi-permanantly installed at the North end of the depot. Date: 09/26/16 07:08 Re: Need help with a date and train in Topeka, KS.. Author: KskidinTx The locomotive simulator car was placed on the stub depot tracks in the spring of '72, or so I was told. Your picture had to have been taken prior to that.
