Misc. MBTA Commuter Rail Shots

1. MBTA 42 at South Station, Boston, MA on June 25, 1983.  A Budd RDC1 built in March 1943 as NH 42.

2. MBTA 425 at North Station, Boston, MA on June 25, 1983.  A BTC-2 (Blind Trailer Coach-1) built from a B&M RDC-3 -- look at the door patches.

3. MBTA 1113 at North Station, Boston, MA on June 25, 1983.  A FP10 built in June 1947 as GM&O F3A 810A.

4. MBTA 1151 across the Charles River from North Station, Boston, MA on September 11, 1991.  A FP10 built as GM&O F3A 884A in June 1947.

5. MBTA 1306 across the Charles River from North Station, Boston, MA on September 11, 1991.  A CTC-1 (Control Trailer Coach)

6. and 7. MBTA 1400 across the Charles River from North Station, Boston, MA on June 26, 1983.  A CTC-1 (Control Trailer Coach).

All those are good Marty!  I had never seen the RDC door patch unit before.
Gosh, they had a bunch of RDC stuff.  I wonder if that Holiday Inn is still there?

Some of those door-patched castrated Budds ended up on other startup commuter carriers.  I believe some were in Dallas for a while, and maybe on some tourist operations as well.

Good eyes. Thanks. The last two photos show the remains of the old power house and were taken in June 26, 1983.  I've fixed the text.

i worked at bet  as a carman , from 1980 to 1990 when i transferd to auto train in fla  bet is all the pictures with the budd house and roundhouse    and the power house  brings back lots of memeres.    bob good     kissimmee fla.

In photos 6 & 7, I see two Canadian Pacific-liveried RDC's in the background. Were these additions to the MBTA roster?
