Amtrak: The National Railroad Passenger Corporation - 1978-1979 Annual by Craig T Anderson Date: 10/22/16 15:27 Re: Early Amtrak consists? Author: johnrr88 Thanks. Did they put out these Annuals out every year? I'm looking for the early 70s, but this is a great start.

Also an excellent source (but hard to find) is "Zephyrs, Chiefs and Other Orphans: The First Five Years of Amtrak" by Fred Frailey. The pages are typed but there's a wealth of data about each train in the network and the equipment assigned to it at various points. https://www.amazon.com/Zephyrs-Chiefs-Other-Orphans-Amtrak/dp/B0006WTC1K niagara484 Date: 10/22/16 16:02 Re: Early Amtrak consists? "such-and-such book will answer all your questions". It's never true. But Frailey's book comes closer than you ever thought possible; if you get it, you don't need any others. (Except Wayner.) Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/23/16 13:50 by timz. |
