NDM B unit in Mexico City

NDM held one B unit as as steam protect for passenger service at Valle de Mexico locomoitve facility in Mexico City.  November of 1980, a real cold spell hit Mexico and was observed in service on El Tapatio, the overnight sleeping car train between Mexico City and Guadajara. My travel plans changed to reach warmer areas.

Strange shade of green for NdeM. Is it painted to match the cars, not the locomotives?

I assume they may have considerd it a company type car and not regular service. This a question I never asked.
Another use of the car, could have been for a stand by generator for facility buildings/shops etc.
