This is a companion shot to a Toto Tuesday I posted 2½ years ago. ( Here’s is a link to that thread: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,3328081,3328081#msg-3328081 ) I was an Emporia (KS) extra board brakeman covering an outside job: local train 1367-68, more familiarly known as the “Lyons Roadswitcher”. On this particular evening our legal hours of service had expired and we were killing time, waiting on a taxi ride back to Lyons. Of course, I just happened to be carrying my camera and a stock of Kodachrome slide film. What better way to kill time, eh…

1. AT&SF 2251, 2257 and waycar 999309 are parked for the night at Marion, KS on April 25, 1984.

       Always enjoy the Santa Fe photos you post. I watched the Santa Fe through Hugoton Ks from the zebra stripes up throught the F units, GP20s, 38s, 39s, U23Bs and a few assorted others and never took enough photos. AS always, it will always be here . . . . . .

Appears the depot is still there and serving as the city library.
