1. SP 3198 Train 50 in May 1982 2. SP 3207 Train 46 April 1982 3. SP Train 130 July 1979 Thanks, Marty Bernard Date: 10/26/16 02:54 Re: 3 SP Commuter Trains, Caption Help Please, 3981, 3207, XX Author: drumwrencher For once, I think I can help out, Marty. At least some. Your first pic is south (RR east) of Bayshore yards. I recognize the cut in the hill behind the train. The second pic is the same cut, but much closer to Bayshore, with the Tunnel road overcrossing, and Brisbane's "tank farm" to the right. Sorry, I don't quite recognize pic 3.

When you caught the afternoon hostlers job at 7th St. in the City, they would take you by pickup truck to Bayshore RH. You would get a commute engine headed east that had to go to 7th St. and go down the yard lead to Visitacion. That is where we used to sit in the afternoon on the "Protection" engine. Once the fleet had gone by, they would line you out thru the x-overs to the west main. Then you would go backwards to 7th St. and tie the engine down for a commute crew. The track in the foreground is the freight lead. The far tracks are C.P. Yard leads, the nearer ones surrounding the red fire hose box are roundhouse tracks. The trailers in the background is the PMT facility.

The track which joins the EB main line is the outbout freight lead (from BS yard). The track in the foreground is the Van Waters-Rogers lead (and the old MT to Tunnel 5).
