Historic Train Depots of San Diego County
Author: SDA_Brakeman

Hello All,
I'm working on a project for the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum about existing train depots in San Diego County.  So far as I know, I've photographed almost all of them with exception of Lakeside, Campo, and Jacumba.  If anyone knows of some that I've perhaps missed, please do let me know.  Enjoy the Photos!

I guess I'm out of the loop.  Never heard of that NC&O station downtown.  How in the world did everyone forget to tear that one down amidst all that expensive high-rise real estate?

Interesting.  Is that a real tree or a cell tower behind the Carlsbad depot?  It looks too perfect.

I posted a shot of the Escondido depot a while back, the moved version sure looks different!
Great collection of pictures, surprised that all exists, especially Vista.

Here's Campo and Tecate.

I have photos of Jacumba and Tijuana - just wrong format.

I've been in there having a few beers before. Didn't know it was a depot at one time. The people that run it now said it was an old auto repair shop.-BMT

Hi,

No, I believe that tree is real.  Looks like a Norfolk Island Pine to me:

That is indeed a real tree behind the Carlsbad Depot.

As for the L Street NC&O Station, I had no idea either.  It is now the Hard Rock Cafe.

Vista really stumped me until I drove around for a bit looking for it.  Looks like a medical building of some kind now.

Encinitas has been repurposed as a coffe shop.  Looks like part of the old baggage(?) room downstairs and restrooms might be still relatively the same.

Did Cardiff By the Sea ever have its own depot?
