Nostalgia & History > Flare Friday - EL 3609Date: 10/28/16 02:30 Flare Friday - EL 3609 Author: refarkas EL 3609 (EMD SD45) heads west through Akron, Ohio in June or July 1967. From the look of her paint and consecutively numbered EL 3610 behind her, this may be her first trip. Behind her is the B&O's Akron Union Station.

Probably, as those are the old "FT era" J1 journal boxes. On an "LRO" (Locomotive Replacement Order), if the customer did not specifically specify, and pay for the up-charge, JEM journals, they got whatever was in the "pool".
