PRR had at least four twin-unit cars which came to Amtrak and were used on the Broadway Ltd.  8801 - 8807

Former PRR twin unit diner-kitchen dorm in Amtrak Broadway Limited service, Altoona, Pa., November 1972. (The Broadway was the first Amtrak train in full Phase I livery).

Are you interested in just seeing them or do you want to use them for a book? I have found photos, but they could only be for personal use. I would be happy to share some of them though. For example, here's the UP 5106 as seen on an ad from NY Air brakes but using a builder's photo.

Nice photo Art. Damp night in Altoona, just the way I remember. The Broadway twins were the only ones I ever saw.

Here is the interior of a former Pennsy twin-unit dining car, photographed on the Amtrak Broadway Limited in 1972 or 1973.

Midwest Railway Preservation Society  in Cleveland owns a twin unit Budd built stainless ex PRR diner that saw Amtrak service. The cars were being restored for operation several years ago and have been gutted. The potential new owner stopped the restoration and MRPS would probably entertain offers to buy the cars.

Maybe in my next life I'll be in that league.  I can't even imagine the cost involved to restore rail cars.  It must be staggering.  However, thanks for the info.

Here's a more recent shot of UP 5106. Here in Denver in 2009.
