From The Same Roll (Part Two)
Author: refarkas

Here are three more from the same roll taken of the EL in Kent, Ohio in the late 1960's/early 1970's.
Image one: EL 3613 and 3609 are my contribution for "Flare Friday".
Image two: L&NW 6036 seems so small compared to the normal boxcars of that day.
Image three: EL 2512 (GE U25B), 2404 (ALCO C424), 2577 (EMD GP35) power a westbound train. Having a lashup with three different builders was not that unusual on the EL at that time.

Nice.  Regarding #2, small railroad = small box car!

Yes, seen that lash up a bunch of times including on the Utica branch in upstate New York in 75.  I guess it was their  "we don't discriminate"  4 axle power lashup.

The third shot really shows how small the U25B was compared to its peers.

The "little" boxcar was a PRR standard X-29 design. 40 Ft, 50ton all steel boxcar. built 1924 - 1934
