Two fallen flags in one shot. Conrail 6273 leads the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey circus train westbound at St Louis Missouri, 13 Jun 89.

Perhaps a third fallen flag: which CR predecessor operated the yard that is represented by the abandoned track?

I like pix that include active and abandoned trackage ... and Conrail ... and EMD ... and long passenger trains, lol.

Looks like downtown St Louis on TRRA trackage headed to Grand Ave with UP/MP yards to the right not on Conrail trackage.IIRC when it came west on Conrail into St Louis in that time frame it was headed to Oklahoma City.
