What train would that be westbound in the morning?

Are you sure it is morning? It might be The Blue Ridge in 1984.

There may have been some excursion trains occasionally in the morning. I remember the Washington DC chapter NRHS occasionally runnning an excirsion to Meyersdale, PA.

Not positive but in the summer the afternoon light is perfect for westbounds coming out of the tunnel.  I still think it's before high noon sun in June, late morning maybe?
