Nostalgia & History > 3 More from 64: To Harper's FerryDate: 01/19/17 14:52 3 More from 64: To Harper's Ferry Author: bandob One of the first railfan photo trips I took in 1964 was out to Harper's Ferry and back from Silver Spring MD. I was very naive, just assumed trains would be on time. I guess I am lucky I didn't get stranded for hours. Then again, maybe trains were on time more back then. I was trying out B&W as well.
Photo #1: B&O #9, The Chicago Express, arriving Silver Spring. Photo #2: #9 departing Harper's Ferry. Photo #3: Eastbound #8, the Shenandoah, arriving Harper's Ferry. This was Labor Day, and a good crowd was waiting to board. B&OBill Date: 01/19/17 15:08 Re: 3 More from 64: To Harper's Ferry Author: NS4271 Great photos and memories too.

With Labor Day being the 7th of Sept in 1964, this would be a day with the dome.
