It was an rare opportunity for my Dad to show the changing state of power at that time.

There aren't that many photos of the U25B's and GP30's being mixed like that on the PCE floating around so this is a real gem.
Date: 01/22/17 21:21 Re: Avery, ID - 1961 Photo by Don Sims Author: fbe By 1969 the main line power was GP40s in the 2000 series. The U Boats were 5000 and 5500 series and worked out of Tacoma. GP30s went east as 1000 power.
The Joes and GP9s remained unchanged. These were still pretty good times for a financially stressed railroad. |
