My father's 16mm home movies, 1948
Author: twin_star_rocket

After World War 2, my father was a neurosurgeon at Scott & White Clinic in Temple, Texas.
First clip is President Truman's campaign train thru Temple, Texas, followed by some circus elephants identified as the Dewey forces.

Very intersting - thanks for posting.  Loved all the kids running after the train!

Fantastic film!
Your dad did a great job on this film.
Doubleheaded Katy steam at the Temple station (which is still there by the way).
Showing the signal bridge just south of the station (lasted till the 80's I believe - not with the semaphores though).
Now I know where the water tower was - just across from the freight station (which lasted till the 80's at least).

Here is a current Google shot of the station (without the large crowd).
