UP E9s at Melrose on the Montana Subdivision
Author: GrandeGold

A Union Pacific officer's special from Silver Bow, Montana rolls along a placid Big Hole River at Melrose, Montana on Oct. 11, 1993.

After navigating the entire length of the 255 mile Montana Subdivision, the 11 car train will tie up for the day at the Union Pacific passenger station in Pocatello, Idaho.

Thanks for looking,

Really nice shot, that line has some very scenic spots amidst the general boredom.

I caught a rare Grayling while fishing at that same spot in the late 80's.

Thanks for the memory!

Very nice. Back when the 3 E's were fresh from their rebuild and were favored for business trains.
