When I see a Baldwain switcher, I think of the K&I's units. They had two DS44-1000, #53-#54, and four VO1000, #44-#47. Spent my eight years in elementary school adjacent to K&I (St. George in Louisville KY) watching trains; a lot more interesting than school. The Baldwins always sounded to me like they were about to stall. Coincidentally, I spent August 27, 1975 also railfanning but in WV.
