Baldwin Beauty - E&LS 201

It is August 27, 1975, and Escanaba and Lake Superior 201 (Baldwin DS44-1000) sits outside the Wells, Michigan enginehouse. She was formerly Calumet and Hecla 201.

An absolutely excellent roster shot in perfect light!

When I see a Baldwain switcher, I think of the K&I's units.  They had two DS44-1000, #53-#54,  and four VO1000, #44-#47.
Spent my eight years in elementary school adjacent to K&I (St. George in Louisville KY) watching trains; a lot more interesting than school.
The Baldwins always sounded to me like they were about to stall.
