WW, room for one more?
Author: oyw

Another late night addition to Warbonnet Wednesday from October of 1993 when the FP45's could still be found leading some of Santa Fe's hottest trains. ATSF 90 is looking a bit faded as she begins the eastbound climb between Ludlow and Ash Hill with a mixture of stacks and trailers on the Needles Sub. Thanks for looking back!

That is one sweet shot Bob.  Thanks for sharing.  A bit faded perhaps, but still looking good.

Another high point of the Santa Fe.   And no one knew intermodal better.

Great photo, Bob!
What's the second unit?  I'm thinking an SD45-2B?  Any other ideas?

Saw the WW in the title and thought, WW? What do you think that is? Woodrow Wilson?...

Another Santa Fe classic.  Great shot!

Wouldn't it be neat if a traction motor locked up and they had to set the lead unit out and continue on with the 2nd unit? Lol

I am totally jealous of this shot.  While I got the FP45's in the 90's, I never got them in the lead.
The cowls were banished from the point about 1992, probably due to an employee winning a
lawsuit involving them.  Very nice shot, however, and I'm grateful to be able to view it.

I guess that explains why OYWs shot was taken in 1993.

Great shot. Can't beat those FP45's leading. When they repainted them into warbonnet it made railfanning great again!

I guess.  But I distinctly remember being told the "cowls" were banished from
the point, and I never got any of them in the lead after hearing that.
