An SP Train With Rolls of Steel in the Donner Snow
Author: MartyBernard

These are Roger Puta's and I'm looking for the location and some words about this "unit"? train.  (I'm assuming this is Donner Pass.)

Thanks,
Marty Bernard

Westbound in the canyon between Reno & Truckee. I'm sure there are others who could give a more specific station or MP.

Of course. That's the Truckee River.  How did he get that vantage point?

Pulled onto the shoulder of EB I-80?

I agree- it would be a relatively easy shoot from EB I-80, but I don't know the area very well enough to pin point the exact location.

Train symbol is OGPIL, hauling coil steel from the US Steel hot rolling mill in Geneva, UT, to the US Steel cold rolling mill in Pittsburg, CA.

Ah, okay.  That's closer to Truckee than I'd thought.  Isn't Glenshire know as Truckee's Banana Belt?   (Only -5 when Truckee's -20)
