SP 9198 in the Siskiyous, 3 Questions
Author: MartyBernard

Roger Puta shot this in the Siskiyous in January 1979.  Signal 4274 places it where?  Which cropping of the shot do you like best?  As Roger shot it or cropped.  And why?

Comments welcome,
Marty Bernard

The 9198 is departing Ashland Oregon Westbound (compass South) about to cross under Ashland Street/highway 66.
As an aside I really appreciate your postings of the SP in Northern California and Southern Oregon on TO- thank you!

I like the way the first photo is framed.  The second is more focused on the train, but I like the first more.

If this is anything like a normal day, this is the head end of the train pulling out to the I-5  bridge, where it will stop and wait for the helpers to drag the balance of the train out of the yard and couple up for an air test.

An SLW approaching Belleview, starting up a 1.6%, towards the I-5 bridge. Then you really hit the grade at 2.0% and then 3.0%. Its about a mile westof the west switch at Ashland yard. Belleview was at MP 427.
