Really great video, Bob, thanks for posting!

That first train is something.  Usually, at least in my experience, on the Santa Fe, most of the engines
would be clean, but there'd be one dirty one to mar the look.  This consist had one really clean unit, and
the rest were dirty!  And the clean unit was the leaser, an ex-Rock Island SD40-2, 4793!  And behind
the train, later in the sequence, were a couple of FP45's in Super fleet paint!  Someone can probably
relate the special event that brought that occurance about!  At least I hope so.

I rode on that special event a few days later. That would make the engine numbers 95 & 97.

The 95 and 97 were set out in San Bdno coupled nose to tail so before going to Kaiser we turned one of them on the wye. After we used them to line the train up in the North Yard the steam engine was was put on the head end and we used the main reservoir connection on the FP's to help with the fire building when a portable air compressor failed to materialize.. We then drug the whole works back to San Bdno and turned it on the wye and returned to Kaiser so that everything would be lined up to go west to LA the next morning. I remember when we headed in at the top end of the A Yard we stopped at the bull switch and picked up an old junk pallet that was laying on the ground there. That was broken up and went in the firebox to help with the fire.
