Nostalgia & History > Norfolk Southern missed heritage scheme??Date: 03/23/17 12:57 Norfolk Southern missed heritage scheme?? Author: Mr-Beechcroft I know they didn't do a few of their predecessors and this is one of them. The New Haven was merged into the Penn Central back in 1968. Here is preserved Alco #0670 at Middlefield, Ct. back in 1993.

Michael Date: 03/23/17 14:12 Re: Norfolk Southern missed heritage scheme?? Author: pal77 They did, but extremely minimal. They got the old Maybrook yard NY (like 2 tracks now) which serves one or two customers north of I84. But not any longer they leased the Middletown cluster to East Penn a few years back. So as of now no they do not operate any NH trackage.

With that previously mentioned lease to the M&NJ, the L&HR in NY State is no longer operated by NS, leaving the L&HR bridge between Easton, PA and Phillipsburg, NJ - less than a mile of track. They do operate a decent amount of L&NE trackage in PA.

However, count me in among those who would love to see an SD70 in L&NE or L&HR paint! Steve B. Date: 03/23/17 20:08 Re: Norfolk Southern missed heritage scheme??
