Here Are Five More EL Slides Needing Captions

Any info for captions would be helpful.

1. EL Chatham, NJ in November 1978

2. EL EMU in November 1978

3. EL Signal P389 in November 1978

4. Lackawanna Railroad Freight House in November 1978

5. Tower November 1978

Photo 1 is Chatham NJ station on former DL&W Morris & Essex, later EL Morristown Line
Photo 2 is westbound to Gladstone, NJ MU train on Gladstone branch..note parlor car in consist. Eastbound train # was 412 Gladstone to Hoboken weekdays only.
Photo 3 is signal P389 on Gladstone Branch. P is for Passaic & Delaware, former name of Gladstone Branch. Signal is west of Far Hills, NJ
Photo 4 is Freight House at Morristown NJ on Morristown Line former M&E Division of Lackawanna RR.
Photo 5 is ex DL&W Tower located eastbound side at Orange NJ station on Morristown Line.

Photo #2 also note the wooden pole supporting the catenary.  This branch was well known for these supports.

Nice job, rrcaboose!

The Orange yard was once a busy operation, with multiple local switchers based there.

It's sad to recall all the local industry which has passed from the scene in Bloomfield, East Orange, Orange, Newark, Harrison, etc. DL&W served coal and lumber yards, a brewery, several major electric parts manufacturers, two dairies, a steel fabricator, the Kingsland branch, multiple team tracks, etc.  Lots of jobs.

Photo showing ORANGE Tower and station platform was also the 'roof' of Orange freight house underneath.
In later years...late 1960's, was office for E-L damage claims and was filled with all types of damaged goods for sale. Was a good source of work with car spotting by P&D Roustabout M-W-F in Orange Yard.
