That is an absolutely great photo taken on Altamont Pass with old Highway 50 in the background. I remember many times passing over that bridge, always watching the tracks of both the SP and the parallel WP, but never saw a train there until I rode the Calif. Zephyr in 1969. I finally did photograph an SP freight in the old town of Altamont around 1973, but trains in that area, especially back in the 1950s and 1960s were hard to find. I'm wondering how long you had to wait to catch this one with your camera.

Great photo! I like the mix of the bloody nose and the black widow. I couldn't remember seeing the two together, but I guess it happened. For how long?
