Colors of early BN
Author: FT

Interesting how the green is now one of the "lost colors" along with
all these GE's. This is at the Denver shops 6-'71.

Note the different number of steps on the ex-Burlington unit (4) vs. the GN and BN (5).

Ahhh man, what a great shot! Talk about a sign of things to come in regards to the post-BNSF merger years (today). Really, that red Burlington unit could represent a Warbonnet Santa Fe today, the cascade BN unit obviously represents the BN as still seen today and is that GN U-boat not a perfect Pumpkin premonition of all of the ugly BNSF orange and green units we see roaming around the system today?!?

Great shot, indeed history does repeat itself...

Great shot of that old power! I've road both the older U-boats on locals and I have one of the number boards off the 5732 just before it was scrapped.
