Nostalgia & History > Key System traction action againDate: 02/03/05 00:37 Key System traction action again Author: stash Tower 4 had an interesting layout. Too bad more trains don't appear in the photo. This is in north Oakland, Calif. where three lines split for various destinations. The tower became useless after 1941 when the H line was dumped.

The final train out of San Francisco in the wee hours was jammed, so I read. Lots of horn action, torpedos, you name it. Out with a bang.

Regarding the photo of KEY SYSTEM Interlocking Tower # 4 ... This is but ONE of some "43" such Towers that existed in the Bay Area during circa 1930... The Bay Area was 'heavy' into Towers in the old days. I have a complete listing-- Stash may have the same listing if anyone is interested enough in TOWERS. A real Towerman's delight in those days!! Cheers. KRK Date: 02/03/05 16:14 Re: Key System traction action again Author: TonyJ KeyRouteKen Wrote:
