Nostalgia & History > SP Daylight SD40 7342 at DenverDate: 05/02/05 10:57 SP Daylight SD40 7342 at Denver Author: cozephyr Southern Pacific daylight painted SD-40 7342 came north (Joint Line move) May 16, 1983 from Pueblo to Denver on Denver & Rio Grande Western RR train 711 as the second unit. SP 7342 had been painted daylight colors in December 1980. It was wyed near 23rd Street Xing, Denver, CO, May 18, 1983. The set then went south through Denver Union Terminal towards Burnham Shops. Other power was DRGW GP35 3047 and Union Pacific SD40-2 3184.

Date: 05/03/05 17:14 Re: SP Daylight SD40 7342 at Denver Author: ProAmtrak Yeah, and 7342 looked sharped then, prettier as a helper pulling 4449 over Tehacipi that following year, but in 86 when I saw it again, it started looking like the rest of SPs power by then, grimy and in need of a much needed bath!
