Starting FORTY years ago, in the mid '60's, when the "Wilmington Turn" made a round trip from San Bernardino to Watson and return daily, the afternoon version is setting out a fresh switch engine at ALCOA for one of the Torrance switch jobs. At various times there were 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd "Wilmington Turns" in the '60's and '70's. This is also back when there were depots and jobs that went to work at Ingelwood, El Segundo, Torrance and Wilmington.

Here, a little while later, the westbound "Turn" is departing ALCOA for WATSON with a typical, for the period, set of 3 geeps.

And, lastly, only last year, a set of, unusual for the Harbor, 3 B23's head west through the "Jungle" in Torrance, CA.

Although I've never been to the west coast, I always enjoy your posts. You ought to write a book on your area, I'd buy one!
