They always seemed to have one strange combination of helper power at Skykomish with all the other sets looking more traditional. Was there a reason for this, perhaps a local out of Wenatchee that they used on the weekends, then throw on another unit and away it goes?

The SP would do that out of Eugene, resulting in branchline GP40's with slugs as the weekend helper set. Any ideas?
