the "Big Nothing". I was surprised in Sept. '94 to find this sign welcoming crews to the Spokane Division, after crossing over the Columbia River at Rock Island, WA. I saw a very classy sign marking the continental divide on a western visit at Marias Pass in 2004.

Probably taken down when the divisions were realigned (may be in someone's garage though). But I have seen signs similar to this at other yardes / division / region / service unit boundaries under BNSF and on UP too. |
