Canadian Railroads > My Last CanadianDate: 11/15/08 14:56 My Last Canadian Author: bn2189 Most of us have seen this view umpteen times, but for me this may be the last.
Since starting to volunteer for the Toronto Railway Historical Association, it has been my routine on Saturdays to watch the "Canadian" depart for Vancouver out of Union Station, and then walk over to the John Street Roundhouse for a work session. With the upcoming schedule change, the Canadian will depart at 22:00 instead of 09:00, and will sneak out of town in darkness, year-round. I may be traveling for the remainder of the weekends before the schedule change, so this may have been my last shot of the "Canadian" departing Toronto on a miserable raining 15-November-2008. F40PH-2's #6449 and #6436 led nine cars--the entire off-peak consist is visible in this view. Maltby Turn out. |
