Grey Cup Train - Hamilton Visit
Author: TheCurator

Further to HAMTURN's thread below, the train arrived this morning at the former CN Stuart Street yard and was open for VIP's and media folk.

I have unbreakable plans for tomorrow's public activities, so after asking about taking a few photos and being given the obvious answer, here's a few pics.

1. VIA Rail's F40 #6445 all decked out.

2. The other side.

3. Earl Grey's Cup graphic on the locomotive.

I didn't have enough time to check out the interiors (a great-niece's first birthday plans) so I've given a name to the cars according to the exterior graphics.

4. The 'Stamp' Baggage car. The stamps shown were issued by Canada Post to honour memorable Grey Cup Games, ie. 'The Fog Bowl', 'The Mud Bowl', the Edmonton Eskimos' 'Five in a Row' (1978 - 1982), and others.

5. The 'Celebration Coach'. Graphics of the cup being hoisted by the championship-winning teams are shown.

6. The 'Team Coach' has graphics of the eight CFL teams on its sides.

Last three of the train.

7. The 'League Coach' has a prominent 'This is OUR league' CFL graphic on it.

8. The 'Skyline' dome #8502 brings up the rear.

9. Marker lights on for safety.

And for any truck drivers out there...

Kubota (one of the CFL's corporate sponsors) had a nicely-done rig onsite.

Thanks for looking!

Is that truck what they're using to take the Grey Cup itself to the off-train event sites?

Also, any info available about the running schedule to/from Barrie on Sunday?

Prettied up or not, it's still a Freightshaker! I will say though it's about as good looking a Freightliner as you'll find.

Thanks for the photos.

Good to see some of those players on the car side; Wayne Harris and Tom Wilkinson.
