Night Shooting And Signal Bridges
Author: BNSF3450

As the darker days set in most of us either put our cameras away for 6 months, or we look to different opportunities for shooting. As we all know the railways dont stop running after dark, and blending these two together can make for interesting results.

I recently was out and about to capture some trains on the move around the Lower Mainland of BC, which includes some railway landmarks along CNs New Westminster Sub.

1). At Piper, CN 5354 and two other EMDs roar on through at the helm of a 134 car grain train headed south from Lynn Creek to Thornton Yard, on October 21, 2012.

2). Flashing Freddie brings up the markers.

3). At New Westminster on November 16, 2012 we find some SRY power and caboose sitting idle by Kreuger Paper Products, as Skytrain streams past.

4). A puddle along the tracks created by our familar Fall weather creates a reflection.

5). At North Road another signal bridge stands against the backlight of the headlight of Via #2. Thanks to CP 1400 for the idea.

6). The going away shot. The markers of Canada's premiere passenger train makes like the Star Ship Enterprise at warp speed.

Thanks for looking!
