CPR lease units

Two of the more interesting units leased by the CPR in the past are shown in Montreal in the early 70s.
1. LS&IRR U23C 2300 leads F7B 4441 and a GP35 into St Luc Yard.
2. IC C-636 1105 sits in St Luc awaiting repair.

Great shots. I saw a couple of the IC C-636 locomotives in Kentucky and heard they were not well liked. In Canada they were more likely treated with more care than in the US because of all the Canadian experience with Alcos and MLW's.

Both the IC and the Alco Demo units had a major issue while leased by CP. Although the MLW M630's and M 636's were almost identical in appearance, CP quickly discovered the mechanical compenents under the hood were different, meaning that CP's supply of spare parts didn't fit the US units
