Canadian Railroads > CN Variety

CN motive power has been quite varied around West Vancouver lately. First is the daily train 546 on its morning return from Squamish, here at Dundarave. Over the past few years, this train has been powered by everything from the big and shiny to the old and rusty. Today's power is somewhere in between, with ex-BNSF C40-8W 2165 leading an SD60F and a Dash 8-40CM. The second photo shows a string of six SD40 variants in West Vancouver yard, with remote-control SD40u 6022 on the point. I was shooting straight into the sun on this one: digital does have its advantages.
