RMR "Armstrong" named locomotive and cars.
Author: eminence_grise

The Vancouver-Kamloops-Banff "Rocky Mountaineer" of July 4th included three pieces of equipment named for members of the Armstrong family of Vancouver.

The train is operated by the Armstrong Hospitality Group, which was founded by Peter Armstrong, still the main owner of this private company.

One of the Gold Leaf domes is named after a late brother, and another for a sister.

In the early days of this corporation (Great Canadian Railtour Corporation), family and friends invested their own fortunes to get the operation on a sound financial footing.

Locomotive 8011 is the Peter Armstrong (formerly City of Kamloops) and was originally a CN GP40-2L

Nice cars but the view is still not as good as the old type of dome cars. It just doesn't compare.
