Few BC Rail Treasures in Prince George, BC
Author: MrMRL

From my return leg (Los Angeles Bound) of last month's Alaska road trip, here are a few BC Rail artifacts I found on display at the wonderful Central British Columbia Railway and Forestry Museum on June 30, 2014.

Mr. MRL

1. BC Rail GF 6C 6001
2. Track Inspection Car V-10
3. PGE/BCOL 1868

Where is the museum exactly relative to the former BCR yards?

Poor old things are not going to like a lot of those terrible northern winters. The GF is looking bad already.

Museum is north of the main yard in P.G. Just east of the wye.

The yard near the museum is the original CN yard. MrMRL, did you check out the ex-BC Rail yard? I've heard that all shop activity is carried out there now, and that the CN yard near the museum is simply that -- a freight yard with no shop activity. Was that apparent from what you saw there?

Was BCR RS-10 586 still there?

Good to see the V-10....

586 is still there, but was hard to view, off limits beyond yellow caution tape.

6001 in better days. Fortunatley at least one of these locos was preserved, guess the rest went for scrap. Doug
