Help requested re: Mac Blo steam locomotive ID
Author: spdaylight

I have a potential seller who has a mounted brass bell that was presented to his grandfather with the only ID markings being #381 on the cradle . . . no ID on the bell . . . I've tried the usual internet searches with no results . . . will try the BC Museum website as they have some photos . . . any assistance would be sincerely appreciated.

Did you look at "Logging by Rail" by Robert Turner ,Sono Nis, ISBN 1-55039-018-X, still available in paperback version.

This book closely chronicles logging railway operations on Vancouver Island and the lower mainland of BC (just brief details of the rest of the Province). Good photo coverage from the 1950's and 60's when various photographers ventured into the backcountry in search of steam logging railroads.

There was much interchange of logging locomotives between BC, Washington State, Oregon and California.
