The TSB report includes two images of the train that later ran away .

Both have the photographers names. Since at the time, the train was simply an MM&A eastbound freight, I'm assuming they were taken by one of several Montreal area railfans who closely follow the operations of the MM&A and submitted by them to the TSB.

I recognized one name, Richard Deuso, as somebody who posts frequently on the NERail Photo Archive. I don't know him, but his work speaks for him. He seems to have pretty good coverage of MMA, CMQ and SLR in the Quebec/Vermont border region. Here's a recent example of his work: http://photos.greatrails.net/s/?p=217170

It's gratifying to see somebody's work being featured in the report, before anybody knew the significance of that train. Without railfans like Richard on the ground, there would likely be no photographic record of that train to illustrate the report.
