It is good that ONR stays out of CN's hands, one fears a BC Rail giveaway type scenario. I always wondered why Genesee & Wyoming were not interested in ONR. It would give them seamless access to Sault St Marie and a good chunk of the north, with Huron Central & Ottawa Valley. They could purchase the CN Newmarket sub and get trackage rights into Toronto From Washago, similar to Goderich & Exeter has into Mac Yd in Toronto As well that jewel of a shop complex in North Bay would find a use rebuilding and repainting the Rail America locomotives that G & W inherited.
