Canadian Railroads > current c.p. grain and coal train info neededDate: 10/19/14 09:01 current c.p. grain and coal train info needed Author: goneon66 I need some info on c.p.'s w/b grain and coal lds on the mountain sub (roger's pass):
1. how are the trains configured (2x1, 2x2, 2x1x1)? 2. approx. how many cars/lds and total tonnage? thanks for any info and feel free to include any other current train info....... 66 Date: 10/19/14 23:16 Re: current c.p. grain and coal train info needed Author: dizzy85 Typical grain loads run 2-0-1 with anywhere between 100-112 cars, depending on destination.
Typical coal trains (empty or loaded) run 2-1-1 with 152 cars. CP has been using the new SD30C-ECO's (5000 series) units in trailing position on the coal trains. Average tonnage of grain would be 14,000 to 16,000 tons. Coal is heavier at 18,000 to 20,000 tons. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/19/14 23:17 by dizzy85.
