For a while earlier this year they had a sale every two weeks. Bookings must be made by Nov. 2 for travel until the end of Feb. The 50% discounts apply to Economy and Sleeper & Sleeper Plus classes, but not to Business Class which already has big discounts for advance purchase.

Thanks to this sale I was able to get a refund on that ticket and rebook at something like $700 savings even after the exchange fee - not a bad payoff for five minutes on the phone.
