Normal train for the GWR on this end of the railway. Only a couple producer loading sidings between Eastend and end of track at Bracken.

Bob:

They spotted empty grain cars all the way out to East End. The cars on this train were loaded that morning, and then they began the rest of their pickups at Shaunavon, working back to Assiniboia.

Thanks, that is what I figured. It has been too many years since I was there but if they went to Bracken, by the time they left East End they would normally have a pretty good train. I know car loadings vary a lot by time of year but if that were normal for the full line, doubt that part of line would last long.

Is 2001 the second unit? When we were there in May of 2008 it was smoking some--not as bad as in that pic but it's had 6 years to "ripen".
