Canadian Railroads > Roll-by at BenlediDate: 11/19/14 14:09 Roll-by at Benledi Author: Train611 Hello fellow TO'ers...
Thought we needed some Canadian content today. Station Name Benledi is 2 miles west of Kamloops station and crew change point. We saw a recent meet a couple of days ago. 1. CP8869 East is passing the head end of 9362 West. 2. After the roll by inspection the conductor heads back to his train. The 9700 DPU is stopped, the head end is about 10,000 Ft. east. 3. The crew is on board and heads west with 9362-CEFX1054-8820 heading the mixed consist. Another day in railroading around Kamloops BC. Thanks for looking. 611 Date: 11/20/14 03:52 Re: Roll-by at Benledi Author: rschonfelder Where is all of this snow we are hearing about down here? the Australian news is so American centric and today's news was all about the snows and low temperatures that have come down from the Arctic. The presentation makes me laugh because there is no mention of the effect on the Canadian side of this - like it is expected and the assumption that Canadians always deal with it.
So I am surprised that from your recent photos, it still seems to be late Autumn up in Kamloops with no sign of snow. Rick Date: 11/20/14 11:12 Re: Roll-by at Benledi Author: LKeithR The storms and snow are hitting parts of the prairies and central Canada pretty hard but there's not too much in the interior of B.C.--temps have been colder. The interior dry belt which loosely runs from Osoyoos up through the Okanagan and takes in Merritt, Kamloops and the Ashcroft/Cache Creek area doesn't normally get a lot of snow--except perhaps at higher elevations. I'd say things are pretty normal right now...

Just a slight correction. The crews refer to this spot as Mannix for the name of the spur in your first photo. Benledi is a little under a mile further westward at the pulp mill. Keep them coming. I miss the area.
