The loudest, most striking, locomotive sound that I've ever heard came from CP 4711 (#71 in your photo) with its straight-eight Cat engine.

He Bob, How many HP did the Cat Motor have in the 4711??

Not sure of HP, but CP 4711 got a CAT 3608 if that's a clue ......
